Hello my treasured friends and welcome back. I hope you have had a pleasant week and are moving forward on your journey of growth and breakthrough. Its been a joy to see and feel the sun making it's way through the clouds a bit this week. We have even witnessed this up in Mammoth Lakes, as we have had the opportunity to escape for a few days for some R & R. The record breaking 800 inches or so of snow this season, is finally melting away, and the daffodils have decided they are not going to be skipped over, and are going to make a late appearance this year. I love the resiliency, tenacity, and perseverance these lil guys are showing! Notice the snow that is still in the background. It's not going to keep these beauties down.
Daffodils that grow in the northern hemisphere typically flower between February and May. Researching more about daffodils, I learned that those grown in the southern hemisphere usually bloom in the fall, so these cheerful gorgeous varieties, popping up in Mammoth, are showing much persistency and patience, as they have waited for the heavy snowfall to continue to melt into June. I love how they are refusing to not be passed over. Their typical season of blooming, seems as though it has come and gone, but these lil guys are proving that growth continues and can happily surprise you; seasons change, and miracles do happen. Notice the snow still in the background, this obstacle is not going to keep these beauties down. We live 6 hours south of Mammoth and our daffodils we planted in our garden have already come and gone weeks ago, and are now gathering strength and resting up for next Spring. Maybe you have thought that your time has come, gone, and timed out, but I think we can learn much from the strength of a daffodil. Even though it seems like the obstacles around us will never subside, and we feel as if we can not breakthrough the heaviness; blooming is more than possible and can begin today, especially if we draw on the strength of the Lord :)
I am adding part 3 of The Power Of Change to this new Post. For those who are interested in continuing with the sermon series. If you would like to begin this amazing study on how to create transformational lifelong change from the inside out, just refer back to my previous post called What Is Your Why? and you will find part 1 and part 2 there. The link below will take you to (Part 3) of the series: Holy Habits
In part 2 of this 6-part series, we saw that it is important to find a "Spiritual Who" in all this. Pastor Craig brings up the idea to "Put The Who Before The Do." this will make much more sense if you take the time to watch part 2, it is only 35 minutes long ;-)
Ask yourself "Who" you want to be, for the glory of God?! If you do this and think of this several times a day, you will be more apt to find who you want to be in Christ more important than going back to your old ways, and repeating behavior you do not want a part of your life. Pastor Craig says, "If you want to change what you do, change what you think of you."
The Holy Bible is filled full of scripture showing how much God loves us, how he sees us, and the grace he has for us. If you want to read encouraging scriptures showing this, I will attach a list from another article. https://everydayservant.com/top-24-bible-verses-god-sees-us/
I will recap more of his eye opening, potential life changing concepts in this series, at the end of part 6.
I believe step one is to make a conscious daily effort, as we begin to implement these truths into our lives. There is a path that will lead to beauty in your life if you just begin the process. Be assured you will experience days that are easier than others, and obstacles that will come your way, but if you stay the course, and invite The Holy Spirit to help guide you, you will arrive at a place of joy, that will give you a sense of accomplishment.
This is a view from the dock at the beginning of our hike, to the end of Convict Lake )
Here are a few pictures below of the path we took, leading us to a beautiful place we love.
This is one of my favorite places to hike to. The area below is located at the end of Convict Lake which is about 1 1/2 miles to the middle of the horseshoe. Notice the quick moving water flowing beneath us to the right, coming down off the mountains through the trees.
As I conclude this weeks post, keep up the efforts to move forward, each day is a new day and full of promise. You are worth every bit of effort you put into yourself and The Lord. He is there to help you 24/7 and will be with you every step of the way; just call upon Him. He hears every one of our prayers and praises. What a mighty God we serve! Be assured He will make a path, where there seems as if there could never be one!
